Our History

Starfire Lumber Co. was incorporated on February 9, 1983. Francis D. Engle, the company's founder, purchased an old cedar mill in the small community of Cottage Grove, Oregon, U.S.A. After spending over ten million dollars in the initial purchase and subsequent improvements, Starfire Lumber Co. is now one of the most modern and innovative mills in the world.  (Click here for Pictures)

In April 2001, Mr. Engle resigned as Starfire's President/Chief Executive Officer and appointed Foster "Robbie" Robinson as the new President/CEO. Robbie Robinson had served as the company's General Manger and Vice President-Log Division since 1983. Currently, Starfire's officers include:

Our bright orange star logo has become a symbol of quality throughout the world. In addition to our domestic, coast-to-coast market, we have been selling our products internationally since 1985. Currently, we have sales networks in the Pacific Rim, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia.
