Starfire Lumber Co. was incorporated on February 9, 1983. Francis D. Engle, the company's founder, purchased an old cedar mill in the small community of Cottage Grove, Oregon, U.S.A. After spending over ten million dollars in the initial purchase and subsequent improvements, Starfire Lumber Co. is now one of the most modern and innovative mills in the world. In April 2001, Mr. Engle resigned as Starfire's President/Chief Executive Officer and appointed Foster "Robbie" Robinson as the new President/CEO. Robbie Robinson had served as the company's General Manger and Vice President-Log Division since 1983. Currently, Starfire's officers include:
